Account & Data Deletion

Information on how to request the permanent deletion of your Lodgepal account and associated personal data under UK GDPR.

1. Delete Your Account Directly in the Mobile App

You can initiate account deletion at any time directly from within the Lodgepal mobile app:

  1. Open the Lodgepal app and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to the Account tab, then tap Settings.
  3. Select Delete Account.
  4. Enter your password to confirm and submit your deletion request.

2. Delete Your Account on the Web

If you use the Lodgepal web platform:

  1. Log in to your account at lodgepal.co.uk/login.
  2. Navigate to your account deletion page to initiate account deletion with your password.

3. Request Deletion via Email Support

If you cannot access your account or need assistance, you can send an email request from your registered email address to:

admin@lodgepal.co.uk

Please specify your registered full name and email address in your request.

4. What Data Is Deleted?

Upon completion of the deletion process, the following data is permanently purged or irreversibly anonymized:

  • Personal profile identifiers (Name, Email, Phone number, Date of birth, Bio, Profile photo).
  • Uploaded identity verification & KYC documents (permanently shredded from storage disks).
  • Saved bank account details and payment cards.
  • Push notification device tokens and active authentication sessions.
  • User notes, favorites, and in-app notifications.

5. Cooling-Off Grace Period & Account Restoration

Once a deletion request is submitted, your account is immediately deactivated and placed into a 14-day cooling-off grace period.

If you change your mind or submitted the request in error, you can cancel the deletion and restore your account at any time within 14 days simply by logging back into the app or resetting your password. After 14 days without activity, the permanent deletion is irreversible.

6. Statutory Data Retention (UK Law & HMRC)

In compliance with statutory UK tax laws (HMRC), the Companies Act 2006, and the VAT Act 1994, historical financial accounting records (past invoices, receipts, and VAT payment ledgers) are preserved in locked, restricted-access archives for 6 years before automatic purging. Under UK GDPR Article 17(3)(b), statutory financial retention obligations take precedence over immediate erasure for accounting records.
